What is an Interactive Image?

  • How do Interactive Images work?
Interactive Images are images which contain “image tags”. These tags make an image come alive. When the viewer moves the cursor over a tag, the tag will display text. Viewers can learn about tagged areas of an image by reading the text associated with the corresponding image tag.
  • How can I use the Interactive Images?
Our Interactive Images can currently only be used on Websites. However, they are ideal for it. You can make your Website more appealing by using the Interactive Images. Visitors to your site are more likely to stay on your site while they interact with the images. This enhances learning and understanding of the displayed image.
  • Can the text on an Interactive Image be customized?
We can generally customize the text for an Interactive Image. However additional fees may apply.
  • What company makes the software and provides technical support for the Interactive Images?
The image tags are licensed by Thinglink. You can visit Thinglink at thinglink.com to learn more about their Interactive Image technology. Thinglink also provides customer support for the Interactive Images. For questions regarding an issue with a downloaded Interactive Image, you may first want to read the “Help” section at thinglink.com. It provides detailed instructions on how to install the Interactive Images. Alternatively, you can contact us at support@medicalmediaimages.com for additional help.
  • How do I install the Interactive Image on my website?
Each purchased Interactive Image comes with Html code. The code will be displayed at the time of purchase. This code has to be inserted into the html document for the webpage where it is to be displayed. It is best to put it near the bottom, as close to the </body> tag as possible, but not after it.
  • Why does my Interactive Image not contain a “Share” feature?
The “Share” Feature is disabled on all MMI Interactive Images. Images licensed from Medical Media Images are specifically licensed to the customer who purchased the image. The “Share” feature would allow any viewer of the image to download and use the Interactive Image, which would violate Copyright laws and the MMI Standard Licensing Agreement.
  • Can I change the text displayed by the Interactive Image tags?
Once an Interactive Image has been purchased, the text displayed by the image can only be changed by Medical Media Images. Prior to purchasing an Interactive Image, please be certain that the displayed text is appropriate for your intended use.  Alternatively, contact us for the option of customized text. Additional fees may apply.
